Systemates Inc. was founded in 1995 by leading architects and software engineers
who saw emergence of Internet as an important business communication medium. Systemates
was commissioned to create a web-based project collaboration tool to be used for
Continental Airlines’ offshore projects. Within two years, Systemates provided over
100 project extranet sites for Continental Airlines and American Airlines construction
and planning projects. In September 1999, Systemates launched ArchManage, the prototype
for the first web-based project management system and the legacy project of Projectmates.
Systemates released the first commercial version of Projectmates in October 2000.
It included handful of features such as document management, RFI, Submittals,
Team Notes, and Discussion Forum. The first version was quickly field tested by
Fortune 100 client for a $200 million construction project.
In the pursuant years, Systemates has
been steadily building the features repertoire for Projectmates software. Projectmates now boasts over 40 different modules specifically designed for
project management and collaboration.
Today Systemates' client base ranges from traditional construction
and design-build to Real Estate Trusts, managing large portfolios of commercial
holdings; Facilities Maintenance groups handling capital improvements and tenant
improvements; leading Retail companies managing hundreds of new store openings,
or even thousands of capital projects, each year; and merchandising and service
providers, who execute installations, remodel projects and rollouts for hundreds
of retailers.
Projectmates has evolved to serve each segment’s needs- from site
selection to design, construction and close out, and beyond to facilities maintenance,
capital improvements, and issues that begin with the actual life of a project site
after the owner takes possession and begins operations.
