Ensign Group, Inc. Teams Up with Projectmates Construction Program Management Software

Dallas, TX — June 04, 2013 — Systemates, Inc., announced that Ensign Group, a group of long-term and short-stay rehabilitation centers, will team up with Projectmates construction management software for capital improvement projects at 116 skilled nursing and rehabilitative facilities across the country.

Ensign contracts well over 100 projects annually. The need for secured project transparency is critical in healthcare construction and was a primary factor in the selection of Projectmates.

Facility directors, inspectors, architects, and contractors, along with the construction department, can collaborate using Projectmates through document sharing, change order review, RFI workflow, progress pictures, and project logs, for example.

Ensign will replace its heavy reliance on Excel spreadsheets and manual input of job cost spending with Projectmates' financial tracking system. The Projectmates budget captures budgeted costs, contract and purchase order commitments, change orders, and invoices. It becomes the capture all for all project finances and provides real-time cost tracking information to project managers and other internal stakeholders.

In healthcare construction, facility owners must adhere to stringent codes and regulations. Because many of its facilities are located in California, Ensign has the added burden of meeting OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning & Development) regulations for facilities in the state.

Ensign also plans to integrate Projectmates with its enterprise AP system, enabling financial data to pass between the two systems. Another challenge Projectmates will overcome is the automatic tracking and routing of change order and invoice approvals. For example, a general contractor can enter an invoice directly into Projectmates. The invoice gets automatically routed to the project manager, then facility director, and finally to the President. All parties can review and approve online regardless of their location.
